This is my last blog of the year, and since it so close to the end of the year (2017, not the school year), I want to reflect back on days gone by. I started out as a person with an idea to make teaching fun again, but I hadn't really known how to get that idea out there. I soon learned that if you want an idea to take off, you must first be able to get your idea out. So, I made tear-off flyers with links to my website, but the most effective way would probably be to post your website link on social media. From here, I may want to work more on the website, and create more lessons. I have learned that many people like what I am doing, and from here I hope to be able to continue what I am doing. To all those reading, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and hello 2018!

Over the past week, I believe I have been making progress. I have gotten the word out by making flyers and posting about it on Facebook. The question is, have you (the teachers) been making progress in the classroom. If not, you can always add things that kids find fun, or funny. One thing you can do to spruce up the classroom is to get some of those sticks with pointers on them. Then, when you are writing something on the board, and you want someone to point to the correct answer, you can have the students point to that answer with the pointers. A second thing that students like is when you are asking questions (Math, English, etc.), you go around the room with one of those toy microphones, and ask them what the answer is, and then they say it into the microphone, like they're being interviewed. Lastly, another thing that students love are those fake witch fingers. (You can get them at the store for a very low price right now because Halloween just ended). The students put one on their index finger, and when you need something to be read, you have the students point to the words in their book with their toy witch fingers. These are just of the things you can do to make your classroom fun. While making this website, there are some challenges along with it. One of the challenges I've had to overcome is getting the word out to other elementary teachers. I have overcame this challenge by making flyers. These flyers contain the tear-off pieces of paper, with the link to my website on it. Another challenge I've had is trying to come up with new lessons every week. This is difficult to do, but I do it so that kid can have fun lessons. When I can't think of anything, I pause and look around. I look around until I find something, and I think about how that could be made into a lesson. Then, I write down the materials needed to make it a lesson, and I make steps on how to execute the lesson. So, I have had some challenges with this website, but I hope that I can continue to create more lessons for kids, and for teachers to teach kids.
This is the first blog post of Teaching Time. You may ask yourself, "What is Teaching Time?" "Why did Teaching Time come out?" "Who is the brilliant creator behind this site?" My information is on the right side if you want to know who I am. As a student I remember being good at school, but not having much fun. I've had a lot of nice teachers, but as I assessed the situation, I think teachers are too busy with all the demands placed on them, to find the time to create fun, exciting lessons. My desire is to help ease the job of the teacher by making a website that provides quick easy ideas that they can implement into their classroom to make it more fun and engaging for students. This is why I created Teaching Time. I wanted a place where teachers could find fun, free, lessons for all types of learners. This came about because I love kids and want to help make teacher's jobs easier. I hope that this site will bring inspiration to teachers and help to make learning more fun for students.
